Welcome to the Bullet Points, the Historyscapes blog. Much like the history we cover, the website is an evolving project. Our digital periodicals are a subscription based product that comes out once a month. Get the first issue on July 4th.  But we want to make sure the website has a little something for everyone who loves history. There will be:

  • Short posts and videos on interesting subjects like local history, fun foods, and current events.
  • An “Ask the Historian” category (Submit your questions)
  • Theme and table of contents for upcoming issues of Historyscapes
  • Bespoke Silent Auction and Construction Video
  • A Member’s Only forum where you can share your passion for history with other Historyscapes fans

About the Periodical

Each month’s periodical will contain several short articles, one or two feature articles, and one historical paper model. Every month will have a different theme, but there will be a few consistent features from month to month, because there are just some things that are fun in any time.

Each month will contain a piece on a period food, because I really like to eat. There will usually be at least one on clothing from that time period because who doesn’t like to play dress-up? And since history is essentially the story of God, or HIS story, there will be a piece on the impact of Christianity in that time.

I’ve been designing paper models for several years, but I’m really into boats and the Civil War. The result is a lot of models from one time period. So, while the articles, videos, and other content in the periodical will be centered around a particular time and place theme, the models won’t be incorporated in the theme. Think of them like the toy in the cereal box. Something fun to play with while you chew on the meat of our entertaining, honest, and educational publications.

If there are things about history you really want to know, we’re always open to suggestions. We look forward to exploring the past with you!
